  • Dr Jane Thompson at Adelaide Blood Care is an independent, South Australian haematologist offering consultations and treatment in all areas of haematology. She has a special interest in complex anaemia and iron issues but is experienced in all aspects of haematology.

Dr Jane Thompson is an experienced clinical and laboratory haematologist who completed her training at The Royal Adelaide Hospital in Adelaide, The Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and Royal Melbourne Hospital. She has extensive research experience having recently submitted her thesis for PhD in malignant haematology at SAHMRI. Prior to her PhD candidature, she undertook multiple research endeavors in anaemia, iron and multiple myeloma. Patient care is her passion and she is dedicated to offering the most up to date and personalised treatment options while considering her patients’ goals and best interests at all times.

She has a particular interest in working up cases of complex anaemia to achieve the best patient outcomes but is committed to offering care in all areas of malignant and non-malignant haematology such as bleeding and clotting issues, obstetric haematology, neutropenia and other blood count concerns, thalassemia, MGUS, multiple myeloma, chronic lymphocytic leukaemia, lymphoma.

  • Please email all referrals to admin@adelaidebloodcare.com. We require that all referrals are received prior to appointments to ensure that issues are reviewed prior to presentation and our patients are receiving the most out of their appointment time. Locations

  • Dr Jane Thompson consults and gives chemotherapy, blood transfusions, infusions and other treatments at Kimberly House or St Helen’s Ward Calvary North Adelaide and Calvary Connery Centre. She works closely with Calvary’s highly skilled and caring nursing team to offer heartfelt care to patients at all locations.

    Adelaide Blood Care can also offer chemotherapy and iron infusions via the Chemo@home service for patients who prefer to complete their treatment at home. For some treatment plans, first doses will still need to be given at a hospital or infusion suite facility.

    Calvary North Adelaide is located at 89 Strangways Terrace, North Adelaide SA 5006 and infusions are given at both Kimberly House and St Helen’s ward

    Calvary Connery Centre is located at Level 1, 46 John Rice Avenue, Elizabeth Vale SA 5112
